Pedal through Niagara wine country on a self-guided bike tour that combines a flexible, independent experience with curated tastings at five vineyards. In addition to maps and an individually-fitted touring bike, this package includes pickup of your wine purchases, tasting fees, and a guided tour of a Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyard.
Begin this Niagara wine country bike tour in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where you’ll be fitted with a touring bicycle that’s equipped with bottle carriers and a handlebar bag. Set your own perfect pace as you set out along quiet, country roads lined with vineyards, fruit stands, and markets.
Visit a series of five, pre-selected vineyards that are biking-distance apart, and taste wines at each destination. Ample sunshine and a cool climate give the Niagara-area grapes intense flavor and sweetness, and Niagara-on-the-Lake is considered the birthplace of Ontario wine production. The VQA-certified vineyards include Reif Winery Estates, Caroline Cellars, Marynissen Estates, FrogPond Farm Organic Winery, and Riverview Estate Cellars.
Any purchases you make along the way will be picked up and delivered to the starting point. This self-guided tour is well-suited to riders of all experience levels, and most cyclists complete the circuit in five hours or less.
